How do Fastbraces® differ from traditional braces?
Fastbraces uses a triangular bracket that is attached to a specially shaped square wire. This unique bracket shifts the crowns and roots of the teeth at the same time for faster, more predictable treatment. In contrast, traditional braces are usually square in shape and typically move the crown of the tooth in the first year and the root of the tooth towards its final position in the second year, therefore requiring approximately two years of treatment
How long does treatment take?
Treatment with Fastbraces® varies for everyone, however typically treatment can be completed within 3 to 12 months. Your dental professional at High Street Dental will advise you how long you will need to wear Fastbraces® after your initial consult.
Do Fastbraces® hurt?
While Fastbraces® are not considered to be painful, you may experience some discomfort after your braces are tightened. However, patients can expect to feel less pain and sensitivity than traditional braces as the tooth and root move simultaneously with Fastbraces®.
Am I a suitable candidate for Fastbraces®?
In order to determine your suitability, it is necessary for one of our dentists to consult with you and examine your mouth. You may not be eligible if you have impacted bone or suffer from temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain.
