Veneers

One of the most effective and popular ways to enhance your smile is through the use of veneers. These custom-made shells are designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, significantly improving their appearance. In addition to their cosmetic benefits, veneers provide a light protective barrier for the front surface of teeth, helping to resist everyday wear and mild trauma.

Veneers are made from either composite resin or ceramic, making them a versatile solution for a range of dental concerns — including chipped or cracked teeth, gaps, discolouration, uneven shapes or sizes, and mildly crooked teeth. Whether you’re looking to improve a single tooth or achieve a full smile makeover, veneers can be tailored to suit your individual needs and desired aesthetic.

Composite vs Ceramic veneers, which are best?

The choice between composite and ceramic veneers depends on your budget and aesthetic goals.

Composite veneers are applied directly to the teeth, similar to composite fillings. They are a more affordable short-term option, but less durable than ceramic. Composite veneers require more frequent maintenance, may lose their shine over time, and often need to be polished or replaced due to discolouration.

Ceramic veneers offer a more natural appearance as they better replicate the light-reflecting properties of real teeth. They are more durable, resistant to staining, and require less maintenance, making them a more cost-effective choice over time. However, they are more expensive initially and involve at least two visits. After the initial appointment, your custom veneers are crafted in a dental laboratory, typically taking 2 to 4 weeks. In the meantime, we will provide you with temporary veneers until your new ones come back to us ready for placement.

How long will my veneers last?

It really depends on the material used (composite or ceramic) but in general you should get between 10 to 20 years of wear from your veneers. A large benefit of veneers is that if problems do arise, they are very quickly and easily fixed. However, just like any dental work, you will see the benefit last longer if you maintain a regular oral hygiene routine which includes brushing at least twice daily and flossing once a day, along with regular visits to our clinics.

How much will veneers cost?

Pricing on veneers varies from clinic to clinic and it is important to keep in mind that the quality of work and degree of complexity plays a big part in the pricing.
